Why Andrea asks about your cycle
Your cycle often tells part of the wider story.
Who Andrea sees
The stages women come to Andrea at
Every stage brings its own questions. Andrea sees women through all of them.
- Cycles and periods. From the first difficult years of your cycle to the changes that come later. Andrea asks about your cycle in detail, because it often tells part of the wider story.
- Trying to conceive. Whether you’re trying naturally or going through assisted conception such as IVF, appointments can be planned around your cycle and your clinic’s treatment dates, alongside the care your fertility team provides.
- Pregnancy and after birth. Andrea’s postgraduate training includes obstetrics. She sees women during pregnancy and in the months after birth, alongside your midwife and GP.
- Perimenopause and menopause. A time of change that rarely affects just one thing. Chinese herbal medicine can be considered alongside HRT, and Andrea will talk you through how the two might be timed.
- Male partners. Conception involves two people, and Andrea sees men too.

Questions women often ask
Can I have acupuncture while going through IVF?
Yes. Many women choose to have appointments during assisted conception. Andrea plans timings around your cycle and your clinic’s treatment dates, and works alongside your fertility team. Please let your clinic know you’re having acupuncture.
Can I take Chinese herbs alongside HRT?
Often, yes. Andrea reviews everything you take before prescribing. If you’re about to start HRT, she usually suggests waiting around three months to see how you respond before adding herbs, so any changes are easier to understand.
Do you see women during pregnancy?
Yes. Andrea’s postgraduate training includes obstetrics. Tell her how many weeks pregnant you are when you book, and keep your midwife informed.
Do you see men?
Yes, including male partners during a fertility journey. Conception involves two people.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly online, or call or message Andrea first if you’d like to talk it through.
